Story / Origin

King of Devas, wielder of Vajra. Among Adityas because he is born of Aditi and presides over one solar month. In Bhagavata Purana 6.18.4-7, all 12 Adityas including Indra are equally Aditi's sons — though Indra eclipses the others in fame.
