Meaning (English)
May Lord Hari — whose lotus feet rest on Garuda's back, who bears conch, discus, shield, sword, mace, arrow, bow, and noose in His eight arms — completely protect me. Given by Vishvarupa to Indra before battle with the asuras. The complete kavach systematically invokes Vishnu in all 8 directions, all body parts, all times of day, against all enemies, weapons, diseases, and astral attacks.
Benefits (Phal)
Most comprehensive protection mantra in Hindu canon. Daily recitation grants immunity from accidents, weapons, poisons, hostile spirits, black magic, and untimely death. King Parikshit was protected by it; Indra defeated Vrtra wearing it. Recommended for soldiers, travelers, and those facing serious threats.
When to Chant
Brahmamuhurta; before travel or risky undertakings; during illness; on Ekadashi.
How to Chant
Bathe; face east; tulsi mala; full kavach + sankalpa take ~25 minutes; touch each body part as named; sincerity matters more than perfect pronunciation.
