Sacred story

When Mahishasura tried to defeat the gods, the universal mother took this form — golden body, ten arms, half-moon shaped like a bell on her forehead. The bell rings to terrify all demons. Combines warrior valor with motherly grace.

Ten-armed, golden complexion, mounted on a tigress. Half-moon (chandra) shaped like a bell (ghanta) on forehead. Eight hands hold weapons, two in abhaya & varada mudra — both fierce and benevolent.
