Navadurga Yatra
नवदुर्गा यात्रा
Nine forms of Goddess Durga — Shailaputri to Siddhidatri — worshipped across Navratri at corresponding Devi shrines.
The Navadurga are nine forms of Adi Shakti invoked over the nine nights of Navratri (twice yearly — Chaitra and Sharad). In order: Day 1 Shailaputri (daughter of mountains), Day 2 Brahmacharini (ascetic seeker), Day 3 Chandraghanta (moon-belled warrior), Day 4 Kushmanda (cosmic egg-creator), Day 5 Skandamata (mother of Kartikeya), Day 6 Katyayani (slayer of Mahishasura), Day 7 Kalaratri (dark destroyer), Day 8 Mahagauri (luminous purifier), Day 9 Siddhidatri (granter of perfections). The most concentrated Navadurga circuit is in Varanasi where all nine have ancient shrines visited day-by-day during Navratri. The grander pan-Indian Navadurga yatra includes Vaishno Devi (Shailaputri-form, Jammu), Brahmacharini temple at Durgakund (Kashi), Chandraghanta temple in Varanasi, Maa Kushmanda at Ghaziabad, Skandamata in Varanasi, Katyayani in Vrindavan/Chhatarpur, Kalaratri in Varanasi, Mahagauri in Kanya Kumari/Varanasi, and Siddhidatri at Nanda Parvat. Each darshan grants the specific siddhi associated with that Devi-form.
