Story / Origin

When the demon Andhakasura threatened the three worlds, Shiva and the gods produced their shaktis as mother forms. Brahma emitted Brahmani who emerged seated on a swan, four-faced like her consort, holding the Vedas and akshamala. She drank the demon's blood alongside her sisters in the Saptamatrika battle.
