The four cardinal abodes of Lord Vishnu established by Adi Shankaracharya — spanning the four corners of India.
Established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century, the Char Dham of India refers to the four sacred Vaishnava pilgrimage sites — Badrinath (North), Dwarka (West), Puri (East) and Rameswaram (South). Completing this circuit is believed to grant moksha.
