Ambe Aarti (Jai Adya Shakti Maa)
जय आद्य शक्ति माँ
The signature Gujarati aarti of Ambe Maa — the motherly form of Durga worshipped at the Ambaji Shaktipeeth in Banaskantha. Composed by Shivanand Swami in the 17th century. Sung as the climax of every Navratri garba night in Gujarat, when the entire pandal stops dancing and joins palms for the maha-aarti. Praises the Primordial Shakti in fifty-one syllables across her many forms.

Meaning
Victory to the Primordial Shakti, Mother. You who illumine the unbroken cosmic egg, you arrived on the first lunar day. On the second day in your dual form we know you as Shiva-Shakti — Brahma and Ganapati sing your praise, Hara sings of Hara. On the third day in triple form you sit in the three worlds — from the three flows the Triveni, and you are the Triveni itself. On the fourth as four-handed Mahalakshmi you pervade all moving and unmoving — the four Vedas sang of you, the four ages knew you. On the fifth among the five rishis, fifth-quality Padma — the five elements are your radiance, you take the form of the five elements.
