जय चित्रगुप्त हरे, स्वामी जय चित्रगुप्त हरे।

ब्रह्मा के तन उद्भव, कलम धरे करवारे॥

धर्मराज के सचिव, पाप-पुण्य लिखवारे।

न्यायप्रिय कायस्थ कुलदेवा, सत्य धर्म दिखवारे॥

भक्तजनन के सङ्कट, क्षण में मिटवारे।

आरती कीजे प्यारे, मोक्षपद दिलवारे॥

English Transliteration

jaya chitragupta hare, swami jaya chitragupta hare,

brahma ke tana udbhava, kalama dhare karavare,

dharmaraja ke sachiva, papa-punya likhavare,

nyayapriya kayastha kuladeva, satya dharma dikhavare,

bhaktajanana ke sankata, kshana mem mitavare,

arati kije pyare, mokshapada dilavare.

Victory to Lord Chitragupta, born from the body of Brahma, holding the divine pen and inkstand in his sacred hands. Secretary to Dharmaraja Yama, you inscribe every act of merit and sin in the great Akashic ledger. Just and impartial deity of the Kayastha lineage, you reveal the path of truth and dharma to all. In a moment you dissolve the calamities of devotees who remember your name. We wave the lamp before you, granter of liberation and the supreme abode of moksha.
