Aarti to Maa Mansa Devi, the serpent goddess and mind-born daughter of Shiva, the granter of every sankalpa formed in the mind, sister of Vasuki Naga and queen of the snakes, worshipped at the Shivalik shrine of Haridwar as one of the principal Shakti Peethas of North India.

जय मनसा देवी माता, मैया जय मनसा देवी।

बिल्व पर्वत पर विराजे, हरिद्वार सेवी॥

नाग-कन्या शिव-पुत्री, वासुकि की भगिनी।

मन की वांछा पूरण, कर्ता त्रिभुवन-स्वामिनी॥

अष्ट-नाग-शोभित आसन, हस्त कमल धारे।

अमृत-कलश कर लीन्हे, भक्तन-कष्ट निवारे॥

मांगलिक-दोष-हारिणी, सर्प-भय-नाशिनी।

सन्तति-सुख की दात्री, मनोरथ-दायिनी॥

English Transliteration

jaya mansa devi mata, maiya jaya mansa devi,

bilva parvata para viraje, haridwara sevi,

naga-kanya shiva-putri, vasuki ki bhagini,

mana ki vancha purana, karta tribhuvana-swamini,

ashta-naga-shobhita asana, hasta kamala dhare,

amrita-kalasha kara linhe, bhaktana-kashta nivare,

mangalika-dosha-harini, sarpa-bhaya-nashini,

santati-sukha ki datri, manoratha-dayini.

Meaning

Victory to Mother Mansa Devi, victory to the eternal mother. You are seated upon the sacred Bilwa Parvat overlooking the holy Haridwar where countless devotees serve you. Daughter of the Nagas and mind-born daughter of Shiva himself, sister of Vasuki the king of serpents, you are the mistress of the three worlds who fulfils every sankalpa that arises in the mind. Your throne is encircled by the eight great Nagas as you hold the lotus and the pot of amrita with which you remove the afflictions of your devotees. Remover of the manglik dosha and every fear of serpents, bestower of progeny and happiness, you are the granter of every cherished wish — accept this aarti, O fulfiller of all manoratha.
