Meaning

O Narmada, joy of the worlds and root of bliss, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and the Reva-named celestials extol you. Sage Narada and Saraswati sing your glory; Valmiki with Lava and Kusha meditate upon your banks. Remover of worldly fear and giver of boons, by your compassion devotees cross the threefold torments of body, mind and fate. Your pebbles are self-formed Shivalingas, your waters cleanse sins accumulated over lifetimes, granting moksha to those who behold your sacred flow.
