Meaning

O mind, worship the merciful Shri Ramachandra who removes the dread fear of worldly existence. His eyes are fresh lotuses, his face a lotus, his hands and feet rosy lotuses too. His beauty exceeds countless Kamadevas — lovely as a fresh blue rain-cloud. The yellow garment about him gleams like lightning; I bow to the pure husband of Janaka's daughter. Worship the friend of the lowly, the sun of the Raghu line, destroyer of demon clans — joy of Raghu, root of bliss, moon of Kosala, son of Dasharatha. Crowned head, earrings, beautiful tilak, noble limbs adorned with ornaments; long arms reaching the knees bear bow and arrow — victor over Khara and Dushana in battle. Thus speaks Tulsidas of him who delights Shankara, Shesha and the sages — make your dwelling in the lotus of my heart, you who crush the armies of lust and the inner foes.
