Meaning

Aarti of the holy Ramayana, the beautifully composed glory of Sita's beloved (Rama). Sung by Brahma, the sage Narada, and Valmiki the master of wisdom. Shuka, Sanaka and his brothers, Shesha and Sharada — and supremely by the son of the wind (Hanuman) — narrate its sweet glory. The Vedas, eighteen Puranas, six Shastras, and all scriptures extract their essence from it. The wealth of sages, the treasure of all saints — its essential meaning is honoured by all. Eternally sung by Shambhu and Bhavani, by the pot-born sage Agastya, by Vyasa and the greatest poets, by Kaagabhushundi and Garuda. Destroyer of Kali-age impurity, making worldly pleasures taste insipid; the auspicious ornament of the maiden Liberation. The cooling nectar that cures the disease of worldly existence — to Tulsi (Tulsidas) it is father, mother, and every relation.
