Reborn as the daughter of King Himavan after self-immolating as Sati. Symbolises pure devotion (bhakti) and stability of purpose. The mountain represents the unmoving Mūladhāra — root of all spiritual practice.

Iconography

Two-armed, seated or standing on Nandi the bull. Right hand holds trishul, left holds lotus. Crown bears a crescent moon — sign of the Moon-ruled cooling first day.
