Transliteration
Medham Me Varuno Dadatu Medham-agnih Prajapatih | Medham-indrash-cha Vayush-cha Medham Dhata Dadatu Me
Meaning (English)
May Varuna grant me Medha (intelligence-power); may Agni and Prajapati grant me Medha; may Indra and Vayu grant me Medha; may Dhata grant me Medha. Medha is not mere intellect — it is the faculty that retains, recalls, analyzes, applies knowledge integrally. Vedic students invoked this faculty before study.

Face east or north. Sit on woolen/kusha asana. Touch forehead/heart at "dadatu me" in each line. Best learned alongside Saraswati Vandana for combined effect. 21 or 108 recitations for serious study sankalp.
