Meaning (English)
I worship Narayana — the Lord with thousand heads, thousand eyes, source of good for all worlds, the universal one, the imperishable supreme state. Narayana = nara (waters/people) + ayana (resting/refuge) — Lord who reposes on cosmic waters and is the ultimate refuge.
Benefits (Phal)
Final liberation (moksha) per Upanishad declaration, removes deep-rooted karmic patterns, grants protection from all directions, brings ananda (bliss). Combined with Purusha Suktam = complete Vedic Vaishnava sandhya. Removes fear of death.
When to Chant
After Purusha Suktam in tri-sandhya. Ekadashi, Vaikuntha Ekadashi, before sleep. Brahmins recite as part of Mahanyasa puja.
How to Chant
Standing position preferred. Face east. Hand gesture: Vishnu mudra (thumb-index touching, others straight). Best with proper accent — listen to certified ghanapathi recitation first.
