Ya Kundendu Tushara Hara Dhavala Ya Shubhra Vastra-avrita | Ya Vina-vara-danda-mandita-kara Ya Shveta-padma-asana | Ya Brahma-achyuta-shankara-prabhritibhir Devaih Sada Vandita | Sa Mam Patu Saraswati Bhagavati Nih-shesha-jadya-apaha
Meaning (English)
May Goddess Saraswati protect me — she who is white like the kunda flower, moon, snow, and a pearl necklace; who is clothed in pure white; whose hands are adorned with the divine veena; who sits on a white lotus; who is constantly worshipped by Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and other gods; and who removes all inertia + ignorance (jaadya) completely.

How to Chant
Sit facing east. Light a white candle or ghee diya. Open palms in receiving mudra. Visualize Saraswati seated on white lotus playing veena. Recite slowly with melodic emphasis on each white-imagery line.
