Significance

Second of Panch Kedar — Shiva's navel/middle (madhya) emerged here. Considered the most spiritually intense site of the five.

Legend

Per Mahabharata legend, Shiva's navel (linga form) appeared here when Pandavas pulled at the buffalo. Trail passes through Buda Madhyamaheshwar with views of Chaukhamba, Neelkanth peaks.

Ransi village motorable end (210 km from Rishikesh via Ukhimath) → 18 km trek via Gaundar + Bantoli to Madhyamaheshwar (3,490m). 1–2 day trek.
