Significance
One of the wealthiest temples in India. Devotees revere Sai as divine teacher transcending Hindu-Muslim boundaries — shraddha (faith) and saburi (patience) are his twin teachings.
Legend
Sai arrived in Shirdi as a teenager c. 1858, lived in a dilapidated mosque he called Dwarakamai. Performed numerous miracles. Took Mahasamadhi on Vijayadashami 1918.
