Per Ganesha Purana — Vinayaka Chaturthi monthly observance grants Ganesh personal grace + obstacle removal + academic blessings. Recommended for students before exams + decision-makers before major decisions. Annual observance during 12 consecutive Vinayaka Chaturthis particularly powerful.
Primary Mantra
Vrat Katha (Story Origin)
Per Krishna Syamantaka Mani story, Krishna once looked at the Bhadrapad Shukla Chaturthi moon while drinking water — and was accused of stealing the Syamantaka jewel. Sage Narada explained the Vinayaka Chaturthi curse: anyone looking at moon on this day faces false-accusation. Hence Vinayaka day observers avoid moon-gazing (unlike Sankashti where moon-sighting breaks the fast).
