Devoted to Lord Shiva · Twice a month (13th day of each lunar fortnight)
Significance
Shiva's most beloved fasting day. Pradosh kala (twilight before sunset) is when Shiva dances Tandava on Nandi. Worship during this 90-minute window grants any wish. Removes Mahadosha, especially marital and child-bearing problems.

Shaivas, devotees seeking marriage, fertility, removal of doshas. Couples observe together for marital harmony.
Fasting Rules (Upvas Niyam)
- •Full fast or one fruit-meal allowed during day
- •Break fast only after sunset Shiva puja completes
- •No grains except after sunset worship
- •No oil massage, no haircut on Pradosh day
- •Maintain silence during Pradosh kala (1.5 hrs around sunset)

- Bathe before sunset, wear clean white/rudraksha
- Shiva abhishekam with milk, curd, honey, water (Rudra Abhishek)
- Bilva patra (3-leaf) offering — most beloved by Shiva
- Recite Pradosh Stotra, Maha Mrityunjaya 108x
- Light diya in front of Shiva linga
- Listen to Pradosh katha (varies by day of week)

Benefits (Phal)
Cures Sade Sati and Shani dosha effects, grants child after years of difficulty, removes obstacles in marriage. Soma Pradosh (Monday Pradosh) is most powerful — 100x normal benefit.

Devas churned ocean; halahala poison emerged. Shiva drank it to save creation. At Pradosh time devas worshipped him. Pleased, Shiva blessed that whoever worships him at Pradosh receives all moksha + earthly fruits combined.
