Primary Mantra
Vrat Katha (Story Origin)
The Skanda Purana recounts that Lord Krishna revealed this vrat to Yudhishthira during the Pandavas exile to restore their lost kingdom and prosperity. Krishna explained that even Indra had performed it after losing his celestial wealth to demons, regaining Lakshmi through this sixteen-day austerity. Draupadi observed it and the Pandavas eventually reclaimed Hastinapura, establishing the vrat as the supreme remedy for restoring fortune and dignity.
