The vrat is believed to bless women with akhand saubhagya (uninterrupted married life), healthy progeny, and household prosperity. Devotees gain inner strength, beauty, and the grace of Adi Shakti, ensuring lifelong protection from misfortune and widowhood as promised by Goddess Gauri herself.
Primary Mantra
Vrat Katha (Story Origin)
The Bhavishya Purana narrates the tale of a wealthy merchant cursed with childlessness who, after years of prayer, was granted a short-lived son. To extend his lifespan, his mother-in-law advised the daughter-in-law to observe Mangala Gauri Vrat. Through unwavering devotion across five Shravans, Goddess Gauri appeared and granted the boy a long, prosperous life, establishing the vrat as the supreme remedy for marital and progeny-related afflictions.
