Vinayaka Chaturthi Vrat (Monthly)विनायक चतुर्थी व्रत
Devoted to Lord Ganesha (Vinayaka) · Monthly on Shukla Paksha Chaturthi of every lunar month
Significance
Vinayaka Chaturthi falls on the fourth day of the waxing moon every month, dedicated to Lord Ganesha as Vinayaka — the supreme remover of obstacles. Unlike Sankashti Chaturthi (Krishna Paksha), Vinayaka Chaturthi is observed at midday rather than moonrise. Devotees believe it removes upcoming month obstacles, grants success in new ventures, and ensures wisdom. The Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi specifically becomes the grand Ganesh Chaturthi festival celebrated nationwide.

Benefits (Phal)
The vrat removes upcoming obstacles, ensures success in examinations, business ventures, and new beginnings. Observers gain intelligence, eloquence, memory power, and the destruction of Vighna (obstacles) before they manifest. Family prosperity, wisdom, and harmonious relationships are blessed. Spiritually, Vinayaka grants discriminative wisdom (viveka) to choose dharma over adharma, and his vrat is considered the foundational practice before commencing any major life undertaking or spiritual sadhana.
Primary Mantra
Vrat Katha (Story Origin)
The Ganesha Purana narrates that on a Vinayaka Chaturthi, Lord Ganesha consumed enormous quantities of modaks at Kubera feast. Riding his mouse vahana, he stumbled at the sight of a snake and his belly burst open. The moon witnessing this laughed mockingly. Enraged, Ganesha cursed that whoever sees the moon on Chaturthi shall bear false accusations. Lord Krishna himself once suffered this curse over the Syamantaka jewel, establishing the vrat as universal remedy.
