The Yoga of the Three Gunas
Guṇa-traya-vibhāga-yoga
Theme: Sattva, Rajas, Tamas
Speaker: Krishna
Three gunas bind the soul to the body: sattva (illuminating, peaceful), rajas (passionate, restless), tamas (dull, ignorant). The wise person sees the gunas acting, knows the Self is beyond them, and is liberated. The qualities and destinations of one dominated by each guna are described.
