The world is an inverted Ashvattha (peepul) tree — roots above, branches below. Cut it with the axe of non-attachment. There are two Purushas — the perishable (all beings) and the imperishable (kutastha). Beyond both is the Supreme Purusha (Purushottama) who pervades and supports the universe.

सर्वस्य चाहं हृदि सन्निविष्टो
I am seated in the hearts of all; from Me come memory, knowledge and reasoning.
The Self in you is a portion of the Supreme. Cut attachment to know it.
