Chapter summary

The world is an inverted Ashvattha (peepul) tree — roots above, branches below. Cut it with the axe of non-attachment. There are two Purushas — the perishable (all beings) and the imperishable (kutastha). Beyond both is the Supreme Purusha (Purushottama) who pervades and supports the universe.

An eternal portion of My own self has become the living soul in the world of beings.
